We are now 20 days away from the end of this legislative session.

We just passed the Crossover Day deadline, which presents a final chance to guarantee a bill will be heard in both chambers.

Several bills advanced and others were left behind with no chance of becoming a law this session.

Republican Senator, Justin Ready, and Democratic Senator, Jill Carter, joined FOX45 News to share more about juvenile justice reform and the progress some of these bills have made this session.

"I'm glad we made some steps forward with juvenile justice that's passed a little bit of a change that's passed both house and senate," said Ready. "I didn't feel the bill went far enough in certain areas typically allowing for questioning of juveniles involving crimes and still have some questions about consequences at that level, but I thought it was at least a positive if we can get that bill all the way through."

Meanwhile, Senator Carter thinks their have been good strides made overt he course of the session, but she is not satisfied.

"What I'm not happy about is that we still don't have any adequate, impatient treatment programs for juveniles for drug addictions or for mental health services," said Carter.
