Justin Ready represents District 5 in the Maryland State Senate. He serves on the Judicial Proceedings Committee. He was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to the Senate in February of 2015 to replace Sen. Joe Getty who resigned to take a position in Gov. Hogan’s administration.

Ready was elected to the House of Delegates in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 representing District 5. He served on the House Health & Government Operations Committee and as Chief Deputy Whip for the House Republican Caucus during his time as a Delegate.

Justin Ready grew up in Carroll County after moving here from Mississippi with his parents at age 11.

At a very young age, Justin became interested in history, current events, and public policy. As a teenager in Carroll County, Justin was involved in community service and youth leadership through his church and worked at Montgomery Wards and three local small businesses during his high school and college career.

Justin has a unique blend of experience. He’s a self-employed communications and advertising consultant, has previously worked in several small businesses, served as staff in both the House of Delegates and State Senate and has twice served as Executive Director of the Maryland Republican Party.

Senator Ready has focused intently on making Maryland more friendly for families, retirees, job creators, and our farmers. In the House, he’s fought for tax relief, against waste and fraud in state government, and a better small business climate and is continuing to work towards those goals in the State Senate.

Justin and Ruth Ready, a public school music teacher, their daughter Brooklyn and son Caleb reside in Manchester, MD. They are members of Liberty Church in Westminster.
