This week, Governor Moore signed SB 1 which limits citizens from carrying their firearm (with a wear and carry permit) in a large number of places when outside their homes. He also signed HB 824 which raises the minimum age requirement for purchasing a rifle from 18 to 21 years old. I believe both of these bills are blatantly unconstitutional and look forward to hearing what the courts have to say about them.

In addition to being unconstitutional these bills will do nothing to improve public safety. The General Assembly continues to refuse to take action to go after violent criminals. The Senate Republican Caucus shared the following statement following Governor Moore’s bill signing:

Senator Ready WBAL Radio Interview:

On Tuesday, I joined Torrey Snow and Dan Joseph on WBAL 1090 AM to discuss the gun legislation signed by Governor Moore and are now being challenged in court. We also discussed the appalling lack of action on actually going after criminal activity.
